We’re not part of mini-Ogoni national congress —MOSOP

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has dissociated itself from a mini-Ogoni national congress organised by some Ogoni chiefs scheduled to take place today.

This declaration was contained in a statement signed by Legborsi Saro Pyagbara of the MOSOP and made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday.

He said the congress might not be in the collective interest of the people, claiming it was not transparent and all-embracing as the organisers did not consult widely before embarking in the project.

He, therefore, advised members of MOSOP to shun the congress which was planned to hold at Saakpenwaa, headquarters of Tai Local Government Area of the state.
