As the people of Ogoni celebrate this year’s Ogoni Day, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi of surreptitiously rooting for Ogoni Oil Wells.
The PDP disclosed this revelation in a goodwill message to the people of ogoni, at Bori, the traditional headquarters of the Ogoni people and venue of the 2014 Ogoni Day celebration.
The goodwill message signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the State PDP Chairman, Jerry Needam, said governor Rotimi Amaechi in company of a serving Senator had visited President Goodluck Jonathan and requested that Ogoni Oil Wells be allocated to his private company
to manage.

Amaechi has never championed the struggle for the implementation of the recommendations contained in the United Nations Environment

The PDP urges the Ogonis not to accept claims by Amaechi, that he left the PDP because of the non implementation of the UNEP report.
According to the party, “Amaechi is very economical with the truth.
Amaechi lied” PDP said.
PDP noted that the rapid desperation of Amaechi to enlist Ogoni people and the scandalous discordant voices trailing his defection were clear indication that Amaechi’s APC was not issue-driven but “disoriented and uncoordinated”
The party wondered how an “incoherent alliance of unpretentious self-seeking politicians” could provide alternative leadership for the State and the Ogoni people in 2015.
Under Amaechi the Ogoni people have suffered neglect, deprivation,
rights abuses and killings. The illegal seizure of the Ogoni people
lands by Governor Amaechi has brought untold hardship to them.
Amaechi plans to bring a stooge as the next governor of Rivers state, so that he will continue to rule in perpetuity and protect stolen tax
payers money.
We urge you to reject Amaechi, his APC and anybody Amaechi brings as governorship candidate. Amaechi wants to continue to dictate and lord over the people. He is power drunk.
The only industry in Ogoni, is banana plantation. Are the Ogoni people “monkeys”. Ogoni people are not monkeys, they deserve better.
We congratulate all Ogonis on this year’s Ogoni Day celebration and
urge you to be wary of Amaechi’s lies and blood money.
