FG approves mega-filling station in Bori-Ogoniland

Ogonis Submit Seven-Point Demands To FG

The Federal Government has approved the construction of a mega-filling station at Bori, the headquarters of the Ogoni people in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, signed the approval on behalf of the Federal Government.

The mega-filling station will be built and managed by a Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, Ken Saro-Wiwa Associates (KSWA).

National-Coordinator of the group, Gani Tobah, who received the letter of approval on behalf of the KSWA said the mega-filling station will create wealth and generate job opportunities for the people of Ogoni.

“I wish to assure the Ogoni people that the Ken Saro-Wiwa Associates is working hard to attract investors to Ogoni.

The approval of the mega-filling station by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with create wealth and job opportunities for our people.”

He stressed: “The mega-filling station will ensure that Ogoni people has access to genuine petroleum products at the approved government prices. It will also discourage the activities of illegal oil bunkering in the area.”

“I am calling on the people of Ogoni to support the efforts of government that is geared towards improving the lives of Ogoni people. Our people should cooperate with security agencies and shun all forms of violence so as not to scare away investors.”
