Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Leyii Kwanee, yesterday charged the police in Rivers to fish out the killers of an Ogoni youth, Mr. Kaananwi Abor.
Abor was hacked to death with cutlasses when suspected cult members invaded Taaba community in Khana local government area last Friday. The palace of the paramount ruler of the area was also destroyed by the rampaging hoodlums.
The deputy speaker expressed worry that the police had not arrested any person in connection with the death of the youth.
Kwanee at a news briefing in Port Harcourt yesterday lamented that the main suspect in the incident was working freely without being arrested.
He said, “We are worried about the issue of insecurity. A youth from the area was killed and almost beheaded by a group of person that invaded Taaba community in Khana Local Government Area.
“We have written a petition to the police over the killing of the youth, yet the main suspect is still working freely in Khana without being arrested,” Kwanee stressed.
