HURAC has concluded plans to resume activities on OGONI/NIGER DELTA NEWS and on other of its social media sites from the week beginning 9th June, 2014. We will be back again to update you with recent news and happenings within and outside Ogoni, the Niger Delta and the world at large. We appreciate all those who contacted us by means of messages and posts on our wall during the period we have been away.
We are working to upgrade all our sites with new features to improve our sites’ user experience, and to undertake series of projects over the summer. One particular project to be done this summer is to create an independently hosted website for OGONI/NIGER DELTA NEWS. Currently, Ogoni/Niger Delta News is hosted under HURAC official website as a subdomain (http://ogoninewsng.com). But there is going to be a change in the coming weeks. One of the reasons why we are hosting an independent website for Ogoni/Niger Delta News is to improve the site’s SEO and to ensure that the news we publish are far reached. We would appreciate any feedback and comments from you on what sort of content should be included in the proposed new website for Ogoni/Niger Delta News. Your feedback and suggestions on how we could improve our services would be greatly appreciated.
We are still contemplating on whether or not a new batch of HURAC WRITERS AND EDITORIAL TEAM would be recruited in this our new publishing year as little success has been recorded from the scheme so far. But if the tradition remains, then online applications would be available from mid-June. We are at this moment THANKFUL to those of you who formed the first and second batch of this team.
Many thanks to all our fans for your patience all this while.
Thank you!
