WorldStage Newsonline– The Ogoni Solidarity Movement (OSF) in conjunction with Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM) and Ogoni Economic Forum will on Tuesday present special memorial lecture for late Ogoni environmental activist, Ken Saro Wiwa.

The special memorial  lecture which  is  been scheduled to hold at Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos is expected to be chaired by  the formal Nigerian Head of State General Yakubu Gowon.

Speaking in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, the National coordinator of Ogoni Solidarity Movement, Celestine Akpobari said Ogoni people will use the opportunity to unmask the murderers and betrayers of Ken Saro Wiwa.

He said this will be done through the presentation of a book titled: “The 3-Demension of the Ogoni Revolution and unanswered questions” written by Mmuen Kpagane.

He noted that the book revealed many  secret  about the betrayal of Ogoni land and how Ken Saro Wiwa was murdered, the role played by his betrayers and how  money exchanged hands and many more.

Akpobari said: “We are holding a special memorial lecture of Late Ken in Lagos and also to  present of a book titled: The 3-Demension of the Ogoni Revolution and unanswered questions. It is time to speak the truth of Ogoni environment and the people.

“We are not afraid of the murderers, whose names were mentioned on the book, but the major thing is to let Nigerians and the world knows that our environment has been sentenced to death including the people and the air.

Akpobari added that the choice of the venue in Lagos was due to the importance of the environment to late Saro Wiwa. “Ken launched almost all his books in the venue while alive.  Of course, General Gowon who will chair the occasion is familiar with the struggle of Ogoni people.”
