2015: Elect Those With Credible Records -Amaechi

Ahead elections in 2015, the Rivers State  Governor Chibuike Amaechi has called on the state citizenry to elect those who have good records and pedigree.
He spoke at the solemnization of holy matrimony between Ela Umasam Okowa and Zosa Dienye at St Nicholas Anglican Church, Aluu on Saturday.
Amaechi stressed that the current political crisis in Rivers State was as a result of his stiff resistance to corrupt political leaders who want to rip the state off.
Said Amaechi: “There is no politics of South-South, South-West, South- East, North-West, the politics we are talking about now is the politics of God and development. Anybody who wants to govern you, who wants to preside over you should come and show what he has done. But for every one thing they show, I will show them 10 whether they are in the federal or state level.’’
He regretted that the grouse of his detractors was not hinged on non performance but rather to share the state wealth which he would not do.
“ They say I am not running an inclusive government, they want me to call them and give them contract they would not do. That is what they meant by inclusive government’’.
The governor reminded the people that he would maintain his vision of transforming the state,  adding that “one of the vows I made to God is that if you make me a governor, I will defend the poor’’.
Inspired by this vision, Amaechi stated that he has vowed to leave the state better than he found it, as the government has built hospitals, health centres, schools and other things that would reduce the plight of the poor.
Governor Amaechi said so far, the road to Aluu is almost completed, while assuring that the convocation arena he pledged for the University of Port Harcourt would be done once the plans are endorsed.
He, however, implored the people to always pray for their leaders pointing out that the government would triumph with the full support of the citizenry.”
“we just want you to remain calm, prayerful,  and focused because any government set up by God cannot be brought down by satan .’’
While congratulating the new couple, the governor prayed God to bless the couple and strengthen them in their marriage.
