Group Calls For Wike’s Arrest …As Abe Sues For Peace

The Rivers Peoples Forum(RPF) has called for the arrest and prosecution of Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike over his comments in Port Harcourt on Saturday, in  which he allegedly threatened the peace and security of Rivers State.
Wike was quoted to have said at an event on Saturday in Port Harcourt that, he “will make sure they will not sleep again, as they are sleeping now. They will not sleep with their two eyes closed. One eye will be open because they know there is danger.”
RPF in a statement signed by its President, Charles Bekwele described the comments by Wike as a direct threat to the people of Rivers State, that can lead to a breach of security, saying security agencies must now take steps to curtail the excesses of Nyesom Wike.
“ Wike must be arrested and prosecuted now for threatening the lives of Rivers people, for threatening the peace and security of Rivers State. Comments like that can easily lead to a breach of peace in the state. The Inspector General of Police, the Director-General, State Security Service must act now to arrest and prosecute Wike for threatening the peace and security of the State. Rivers people have had enough of Wike.”
“Wike must be told in clear terms that he cannot threaten the peace and security of Rivers State because he has political ambition. Wike is very free to pursue whatever ambition he has, but must the state collapse because Wike wants to be Governor? How can a minister in this country even talk like that? A minister in the ministry of education, at a time when all the universities in this country are shut down due to a lingering strike action by lecturers, this minister is busy roving all over Rivers State politicking and threatening the peace and security of Rivers State. So, when does Wike have time to find a resolution to the ASUU strike?
Meanwhile, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe has cautioned  the Minister Of state for Education that making Rivers State uncomfortable may not be good for anybody.
Abe who represents Rivers South East Senatorial district in the National Assembly spoke  to journalists after a stakeholders meeting at Eleme in Eleme Local Government Area In Rivers State. He sue for peace for the interest and development of Rivers State.
The Lawmaker expressed the need for all to allow peace to reign in the state as he cautioned  politicians to watch their utterances which may be inimical to the development of the state .
“We need to allow the Governor to Concentrate and we should  create an atmosphere that will allow the governor to concentrate. We should realize that all of us have a role to play in ensuring that the governor concentrates”, he said.
He warned that no body can gain anything for causing trouble in his state, adding that the reason politicians are in politics is because of the masses and no matter how upset we must be, we should spare time to assist them.
