OCSP Hails Outcome Of MOSOP Presidential Poll

The Ogoni Civil Society Platform (OCSP) has commended MOSOP delegates and indeed the good people of Ogoni for voting excellence and genuine commitment to service as represented by Mr. Legborsi Saro Pyagbara as the President of MOSOP.

In the presidential poll held at the Ogoni Peace and Freedom Centre, Bori, Ogoni and contested by four candidates, namely, Prince Harry Wiwa, Chief Mike Nwidobie, Dr. Meshach Karanwii and Mr. Legborsi Saro Pyagbara, the President-Elect, Mr. Pyagbara polled a total of 23 votes; Dr. Karanwii 15 votes, Chief Mike Nwidobie 7 votes and Mr. Harry Wiwa scored zero vote.

We agree with the president-elect that the just concluded MOSOP national election has no victor and no vanquished. The victory represents the triumph of good and fairness over the forces of evil. Also, we join him to call on all Ogonis to join forces with the new leadership to deal and find enduring solutions to our problems as our challenges and the tasks ahead are enormous.

OCSP is prepared to work with the new MOSOP leadership to revive and strengthen the Movement including consolidating the organisation’s gains and striving for greater heights.
