Poem: Let Us Honour Our Ancestors By Komene Famaa

Let us Honour Our Ancestors

(By Komene Famaa)

Let us honour our ancestors

Dance with our companions

And sing with our children

As we celebrate existence

The planet our feet

And the beckoning stars above

And may the people

Of the ages ahead

Delight in our rescue

Of their Earth

Our Earth

For we are them

And they are us

And their happiness

Is the truest measure

Of our Own

But while god is good

And good is god

Temple roofs still fall

Like love and hate

Every responsibility

May be laid

Before an altar.

Each of us alters the whole

By just a little

And yet forever.

***THE END***
