| | | | | HURAC WISHES YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE!!! | | Dear HURAC friend, HURAC would love to use this medium to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance. It has been a great year with lots of experience, both good and bad, but one thing has been clear: God has been so faithful to us. HURAC appreciates all your support all this while; for being a fan to us on facebook and all your suggestions even while we planned to develop a new wesbite in July. Below is a summary of our 2012 YEAR IN REVIEW: 1. Expanding the club to most of the schools in Ogoni, and an increase in our members during the year. 2. Creating a new website for the club; a forum for Ogonis; a sitededicated to the Ogoni struggle and a news website where news from within Ogoni could be read. 3. In addition to our present facebook accounts, we also added a new one that sends newsfeed from our website to our facebook fans in order to keep them updated on recent happenings in Ogoni, the Niger Delta and the world at large. 4. We employed 15 volunteers to work with us in the disposition of our duties to our fans. 5. Below is a further breakdown of our growth rate and changes in our membership over the year: - We added 1724 friends to our friend list in 2012 bringing our friend list up to 2,215.
- Our Ogoni Online forum now has 94 active members
- Our facebook group now has over 1290 active members
- HURAC official facebook page received 130 likes
- Ogoni/Niger Delta news facebook page received over 215 likes in less than 6 months!
- and finally Ogoni/Niger Delta News website, according to our site analytics had 21,629 visits, 483,525 hits, with 8,166 unique visitors with most of the visits coming from the United States followed by the United Kingdom and Nigeria being the 5th.
We are hoping to do even more in 2013. You are welcome to always join us to achieve our aim and make a better Ogoni/Niger Delta. Our 4th Anniversary comes up on the 16th january 2013, we would appreciate if you can join us to celebrate it. And don’t forget, we love changes and are always happy to receive feedbacks, suggestions and advice from the public. Please send yours to enquiry@huraclub.org. HURAC is a club instituted by the Movement For the Survival of the Ogoni People, which is open to all secondary schools within and outside Ogoni and also to all intending members. It`s currently operating in Riv-Poly secondary school, its division HQTRS, and also in CSS Bori, ACGS Bori, BMGS Bori and some Portharcourt schools. It has Kate, Wisdom Deebeke as its pioneer Senior Chief Co-ordinator. It was inaugurated in Riv-Poly by the INTELLECTUAL ELITE BATCH, with Tuaka Jeremiah as the appointed Chairman as at then.
